MP3Gain - Free volume balancing
MP3Gain is a free volume balancing tool, used to adjust your collection of mp3s so that they all play at the same volume. No longer will you have to reach for your volume control every time a particularly loud or quiet song comes on! Your entire mp3 collection can be played at one consistent volume without adjustment.
Volume harmonisation across tracks
MP3Gain works slightly differently to other programs with similar functions because it does not simply do peak normalisation but instead uses statistical analysis to analyse how loud a song sounds to human ears. The other bonus of using MP3Gain over other similar software is that it is completely lossless, because it adjusts the mp3 file directly rather than de-coding and re-encoding it. It also supports storing analysis information transparently within the mp3 file itself, so you only ever need analyse each file once. This is a completely optional feature and can easily be turned off should it interfere with your mp3 playback.
Volume adjustment made easy
MP3Gain is a very simple and lightweight tool that is easy and fulfils its purpose. Whether you want to adjust the volume of 2 files or a whole album, there are no limits to the amount of mp3s you can adjust.

I have had to reinstall the program because of computer issues not related to the program but other incidences caused me to re install windows several times Each time I re install mp3 gain but it is a nightmare to get it to work in windows 8 Cannot drag and drop files into the program it is awful to have to click add files find the drive find the folder find the file and enter it the long inconvenient hard way drag and drop was so nice More

10 years ago - a genius here claimed, "Being a producer myself" then went on to berate the program, and anyone that would use it. What that genius did NOT acknowledge, was users wanting to normalize a HUGE library of files in a folder, as opposed to "ripping to CD"! If you lack the ability to recognize the needs of others, beyond those of yourself, just STFU and keep your opinion to yourself! Thank you! More

Can't do without it!.
Robotic Joe must listen to music like a robot. I listen to it like a human, and I want control over my music...which is why MP3Gain is SO good...it gives me a starting point so that I won't have to strain to hear certain tracks from certain albums, and have my eardrums ruptured by other tracks from other albums...and then I can turn the volume up or down and never have to worry. Plus, the AACGain option makes iTunes work that much better!
Pros:
I love the ability not to have to consistently change the volume when listening to a mix of music. More

Re: MP3Gain 1.4.6 .
Why would anybody even want to have it so that they have the same volume when playing there music. Being a producer myself we know that great mixing starts with differ variable volumes within each pattern or loop. So why mess that up. Besides there's already this option in Windows media player to normalize the volume when ripping in a cd. How stupid! ~ Robotic Joe
